The Olympus Zuiko Digital 40-150mm zoom lens is in the 'Standard' Series of the Olympus lens range, but despite this has ED lens element to produce excellent image performance, particularly when the low price is considered.

Do not confuse this lens with the Olympus 40-150mm NON ED version, as this ED version is optically superior, more compact and lighter than the Non ED version.

With a 35mm equivalent focal length of 80-300mm (3.8 telephoto zoom lens) it is extremely compact, small and lightweight and is ideal medium - long telephoto zoom lens for genaral use, portraits, sports, and and covers many genaral photographic needs.

At this price, although it can be considered a cheap Olympus lens, the quality surpasses the expectation of such a low priced optic. Do not confuse this lens with the older 40-150mm (non ED lens) which is also a good lens, but lacks the ED lens element, and the superior optical quality of this 40-150mm ED Olympus lens.

This lens is a great update for a second lens for an Olympus E-400. E-410, E-420 or E-500, E-510, E-520 etc, or as a direct replacement for the telephoto kit lens, and often comes as part of the Olympus Twin Lens ED kit lenses as standard.
