The B+W UV Filters block the invisible UV component of light from the sky, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast.

Because the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required, and the B+W 62mm UV filters are also popular as a 62mm clear glass lens protection filter for lens protection, guarding the lens against dust and damage, and it can be constantly kept on the lens.

With the added feature of B+W MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) which is an effective multiple layer coating that is harder than glass and it helps to protect the 62mm UV filter from scratches (for instance when cleaning the filters), and it is also water and dirt repellent, thus facilitating filter cleaning and maintenance.

The 62 mm B&W filter features MRC - Multicoated Glass, and brass F-PRO standard mounts.
